Code of Conduct

PyCon APAC Indonesia 2024 Code of Conduct (hereinafter referred to as the "Code of Conduct") is an event ("Event") held by the Python Indonesia community ("Python ID"). All the participants who participate in this event are required to read all the terms of this agreement and agree to this code of conduct.

PyCon APAC ID is a conference organized and run by volunteers in Python ID communities that is dedicated to advancing and promoting the Python programming language. Through holding the PyCon APAC ID conference, Python users can gather and exchange information with other developers from a wide variety of fields. It is our aim to create new relationships between the different communities and businesses using Python.

Our Standards

Pycon APAC ID is organized with the utmost respect by the host country and city to ensure every member of Python community has positive experience. The Python community is dedicated to providing a positive experience for everyone, regardless of age, gender, faith, and physical appearance.



Examples of behavior that contributes to creating a positive environment include, but not limited to:

  • Being kind to others
  • Using welcoming and inclusive language
  • Showing empathy towards other community members
  • Behaving professionally
  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences

Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include, but not limited to:

  • Harassment of conference participants in any form
  • Violent threats or language directed against another person
  • Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or exclusionary jokes
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
  • Sexual language and imagery in any conference venue, including talks
  • Other conduct that is inappropriate for a professional audience including people of many different backgrounds

Participants asked to stop any inappropriate behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in behavior that violates this code of conduct, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund.



For Sponsors and Partners

Sponsors and Partners are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualised images, activities, or other material. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualised clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualised environment.

Weapon and Dangerous Items Policy

No weapons and dangerous items are allowed at conference venues, including but not limited to explosives (including fireworks), guns, and knives, as well as any other item used for the purpose of causing injury or harm to others. Anyone seen in possession of one of these items will be asked to leave immediately, and will only be allowed to return without the weapon. Attendees are further expected to comply with all state and local laws on this matter.

Reporting and Rule Enforcement

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund.

Conference staff will be happy to help participants contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.


All participants should follow instructions from the meeting staff

Examples of instructions from staff include:

  • Instructions to ensure physical and psychological safety
  • Fire hazard, earthquake, volcanic eruption and other natural disasters
  • Other Force Majeure Responses

In order to ensure the above, the meeting staff may request the participants to leave the event if deemed necessary. Participants need to follow it. In this case, we will not refund the participation fee that has already been paid.

Attendees should observe this Code of Conduct in the conference room, workshop venue, social events associated with the conference, conference website, and applications used.
